The /p/q/ cause the baseline to dance up and down; very distracting. The /g/y/ might have a similar problem, but it's less pronounced — would have to see it without /p/q/ enhancing the effect.As…1 -

Spacing looks a bit too tight IMHO, except for the right side of /l/. I would probably lower /p/q/ to the baseline. The idea certainly makes sense for /g/y/, but feels a bit exaggerated there. Might …3 -

Am I the only one who considers it a bad idea to assign meaning to subtly different stylistic elaborations of a mark? Why not chose something unambiguous? E.g., replace the dots with horizontal lines…1 -

OK, I'll take the bait.The first statement is debatable. Arabic script is extremely well suited to semitic languages with their reliance on TRY-CNSNNTL RWTS; not so much for most other languages…3
